Please be assured that as the regulatory body for all physiotherapy professionals, Physiotherapy Alberta has created guidance regarding service during this unique time that will be followed strictly by our team.
We will be glad to provide mobile service in your home on condition that you fulfill the following criteria: in the past 10 days, you have not experienced any of the following symptoms of COVID-19: cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, sore throat, or difficulty breathing; in the past 10 days, you have not been in close contact with anyone experiencing these symptoms; in the past 14 days, you have not traveled internationally; and, in your estimation, your functional impairment or medical condition limits your quality of life such that in-person treatment is warranted at this time.
We would ask that you review this list prior to each of your appointments. Please note there are no cancellation charges for missed appointments at this time.
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed, please contact Health Link at 811 and/or consult myhealth.alberta.ca for more information and a more detailed self-assessment, as well as begin a 10-day self-isolation immediately.
If it has been determined that home-based treatment will proceed, please be assured that the following measures will be in place for your safety: frequent therapist hand-washing and surface cleaning; additional cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment; your therapist will now wear a medical procedure mask and avoid touching any surfaces inside your home; no linens will be provided - we would ask that you have your own pillow available for your treatment; finally, please limit the potential contact with other members of your household by providing a fairly private treatment area.
